Getinge extends offer for Datascope to Jan. 6

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 11 - Getinge AB extended its $53-per-share cash tender offer for Datascope Corp. to midnight ET on Jan. 6 from midnight ET on Dec. 10.

As of Dec. 10, approximately 14,854,763 shares, or about 93%, of Datascope common stock had been validly tendered and not withdrawn in the offer, a Getinge news release said.

Getinge previously extended the offer to Dec. 10 from Nov. 11.

It was previously reported that as of Nov. 10, about 68% of Datascope common stock had been validly tendered and not withdrawn.

In September, Datascope, a Montvale, N.J., medical device company, agreed to be acquired by Getinge for $865 million.

Getinge is a medical device company based in Getinge, Sweden.
