Dako, Ventana resolve patent infringement dispute over Artisan Staining System

Philadelphia, May 31 - Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. said Wednesday that is has resolved its patent infringement dispute with privately owned Dako North America, Inc. concerning Dako's Artisan Staining System, an automated staining system used for diagnostics.

On Tuesday, the companies asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware to dismiss the case with prejudice, according to a company news release.

Pursuant to the terms of a confidential agreement between the parties, Dako said it will continue to market the Artisan System.

Ventana is the Cedex, France, maker of diagnostic instruments and reagent systems.
