Former subadviser Cove Street now adviser to CSC Small Cap Value Fund

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Feb. 22 - Cove Street Capital said it has been named adviser of its first mutual fund, the CSC Small Cap Value Fund, which it formerly subadvised.

Cove Street assumed sole investment advisory responsibility on Jan. 27, according to a press release.

The fund has been continuously managed by Cove Street founder and chief investment officer Jeffrey Bronchick since 1998.

"The fund employs a research-driven, classic value approach," Bronchick said in the release. "The current macro-driven environment poses an interesting opportunity for investors who want to differentiate through the type of careful bottom-up research that Cove Street employs."

Greg Farber, director of institutional marketing and client service, will focus on introducing the fund to institutional investors, consultants and independent registered investment advisers.

The investment adviser is based in El Segundo, Calif.
