Waiting period ends in Covansys, Computer Sciences merger

Charlotte, N.C., June 14 - The Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period has ended in the proposed $34-per-share acquisition of Covansys Corp. by Computer Sciences Corp. first announced on April 25, according to a Covansys news release.

Covansys shareholders will vote on the acquisition on June 27.

The transaction, slated to close in July, is valued at approximately $1.3 billion.

Covansys, based in Farmington Hills, Mich., is an information technology services company. Computer Sciences, an information technology services company, is located in El Segundo, Calif.
