AgFeed granted 60-day extension of exclusive periods to negotiate plan

By Jim Witters

Wilmington, Del., Nov. 19 - AgFeed USA, LLC was granted a 60-day extension of its exclusive periods for filing a Chapter 11 plan and for soliciting plan acceptances, according to a Nov. 19 filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The exclusive period for filing a Chapter 11 plan is extended through Jan. 13 from Nov. 12. The exclusive period for soliciting plan votes is extended through March 11 from Jan. 10.

In seeking the extensions, the company said it needs the additional time to negotiate a consensual plan of liquidation.

AgFeed USA, an Ames, Iowa-based producer of animal feed, filed for bankruptcy on July 15. Its Chapter 11 case number is 13-11761.
