Columbia Equity Trust acquisition price increases to $19.50

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 22 - Columbia Equity Trust, Inc. said it amended its Nov. 5 merger agreement with affiliates of JPMorgan Asset Management's Special Situation Property Fund.

Under the amended agreement, Special Situation Property Fund will acquire all of the outstanding common stock of Columbia for $19.50 per share cash, a $0.50 per share increase over the original $19.00 per share price, according to a company news release.

Columbia's shareholders will vote on the merger at a special meeting on Tuesday.

Washington, D.C.-based Columbia Equity Trust owns, operates, acquires and develops commercial office properties.
