Gabelli, Gamco own 6.19% of ChoicePoint

Charlotte, N.C., March 14 - ChoicePoint Inc. investors led by Gabelli Funds, LLC and Gamco Asset Management Inc. bought 4,442,100 shares of the company's stock between Feb. 21 and March 13 for a total stake in the company of 6.19%.
The shares were priced from $47.96 to $48.47 according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
On Feb. 21, Reed Elsevier agreed to acquire ChoicePoint for $50 per share or $4 billion.
It was previously reported that the transaction is expected to close in the summer of 2008.
ChoicePoint is an Alpharetta, Ga.-based identification and credential verification services company.
Reed Elsevier is a publisher and information provider based in London. The company is jointly owned by Reed Elsevier plc and Reed Elsevier NV.
