Former Pemco World Air requests precautionary exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Jan. 4 - WAS Services, Inc., formerly Pemco World Air Services, Inc., asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to extend its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a plan of reorganization, according to a Friday court filing.

WAS Services wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to April 4 from Jan. 4 and the solicitation period to June 3 from March 4.

As previously reported, the company filed its first amended plan of liquidation in November. WAS Services said it expects a plan confirmation hearing to be set and the plan to be confirmed in the near future.

According to the motion, WAS Services requested the extension "out of an abundance of caution," in case any confirmation issues arise.

Tampa, Fla.-based Pemco performs large jet maintenance and repair services. It filed for bankruptcy on March 6, 2012 under Chapter 11 case number 12-10799.
