U.S. Global’s Near-Term Tax Free Fund adds manager Ralph Aldis

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 22 – U.S. Global Investors Funds announced it has added Ralph Aldis to the portfolio management team that manages the Near-Term Tax Free Fund, according to a 497K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The fund seeks to provide a high level of current income that is exempt from federal income taxation and to preserve capital. Under normal market conditions, it invests at least 80% of its net assets in investment-grade municipal securities whose interest is free from federal income tax, including the federal alternative minimum tax. The fund will maintain a weighted-average portfolio maturity of five years or less.

San Antonio-based U.S. Global Investors, Inc. serves as the investment adviser.
