AbbVie to repay 1.75% senior notes due 2017 using new issue proceeds

Chicago, Nov. 2 – AbbVie Inc. plans to repay all or some of its 1.75% senior notes due Nov. 6, 2017 using proceeds of a new issue.

AbbVie plans to organize a series of European fixed-income investor meetings beginning Nov. 9 with an inaugural euro-denominated senior multi-tranche benchmark deal. Proceeds will be used to refinance debt, according to a company announcement.

The company said it also plans to use cash on hand to repay the notes.

AbbVie is a biopharmaceutical company is based in Abbott Park, Ill.
