Tribune: examiner's report not public for now, hearing set for Aug. 3

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., July 29 - The report by Tribune Co.'s court-appointed examiner Kenneth N. Klee will be made available in an unredacted form to the parties to the Chapter 11 process, said a Tribune spokesperson following a hearing on Thursday.

Chief judge Kevin J. Carey will determine if the report will be made public at a hearing on Aug. 3, according to a court filing.

The Tribune spokesperson said other dates and deadlines were not affected by Thursday's ruling. Voting on the plan still closes on Aug. 6, and the plan confirmation hearing is set for Aug. 30.

As previously reported, a status conference with respect to the hearing is set for Aug. 9.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13141.
