By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 1 – SunEdison, Inc. completed the sale of solar assets in Latin America to Actis, according to an Atlas news release.

Growth markets investor Actis said it made a $525 million commitment to establish a Pan-Latin American renewable energy platform, Atlas Renewable Energy.

Actis said the SunEdison deal includes an agreement to acquire contracted projects in operation, construction or advanced development stage, as well as projects in early stage development.

Based in Maryland Heights, Mo., SunEdison operates renewable power plants. It filed for bankruptcy on April 21, 2016 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York under Chapter 11 case number 16-10992.
