GS Finance to price leveraged buffered notes linked to S&P 500 index

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 26 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due Sept. 30, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of the index return, subject to a maximum settlement amount that is expected to be $1,193 per $1,000 principal amount and will be set at pricing. Investors will receive par if the index declines by 10% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that the index declines beyond 10%.
The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is the underwriter.
The notes will price on Sept. 27.
The Cusip number is 40056XBR6.
