S&P: Scana view developing

S&P said it affirmed its ratings, including the BBB+ issuer credit ratings, on Scana Corp. and its subsidiaries, South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. and Public Service Co. of North Carolina Inc., and revised the outlook to developing from negative.

S&P also affirmed its A-2 short-term ratings on the entities.

“The outlook revision to developing from negative follows the company's announcement that it will abandon construction of its two new nuclear plants and seek recovery of the abandoned investment,” S&P said in a news release.
