Moody's rates Prudential notes Baa1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa1(hyb) junior subordinated debt rating to the anticipated junior subordinated notes due 2052 to be issued by Prudential Financial, Inc.

The agency affirmed Prudential’s ratings, including the Baa1(hyb) junior subordinated rating, on Nov. 22.

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include the redemption or repurchase of junior subordinated notes maturing in 2043. The 2043 notes become callable next June.

Prudential’s outlook remains stable.
