S&P rates Prospect Capital notes BBB-

S&P said it assigned its BBB- debt rating on Prospect Capital Corp.'s proposed $100 million senior unsecured notes due Jan. 15, 2024.

S&P’s issuer credit rating on the company is BBB- with a stable outlook.

“Our ratings on PSEC reflect its broad capabilities as the second-largest business development company (BDC), with diversified origination channels, as well as its favorable funding profile. The company has established and maintained a largely unsecured funding profile that leaves the majority of assets unencumbered,” S&P said in a news release.
