S&P revises Prince Edward Island view to positive

S&P said it revised its outlook to positive from stable and affirmed its A long-term issuer credit and senior unsecured debt ratings on the province of Prince Edward Island.

“The positive outlook reflects at least a one-in-three chance that we could raise the long-term ratings by one notch over the next 12-24 months, should PEI’s economic growth and adequate fiscal policies continue to translate into additional tax revenues that fully fund new program expenditures and result in a lower debt burden,” said S&P in a press release.
