Pfleiderer agrees to sell Pergo, completes North American withdrawal

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Oct. 29 - Pfleiderer AG has entered into an agreement to sell Pergo to Mohawk Industries, Inc., according to a company news release.

The transaction is expected to close no later than the first quarter of 2013 and is subject to customary governmental approvals and closing conditions.

As part of the ongoing restructuring, Pfleiderer previously announced the disposal of its North American operations.

Following the initial disposal of the Uniboard operations in the United States in January 2012, the Canadian operations of Uniboard were sold in September.

With the sale of Pergo, Pfleiderer said its withdrawal from the North American market has now been completed.

Neumarkt, Germany-based Pfleiderer Finance is the holding company for German timber products maker Pfleiderer AG.
