Pacific Lumber confirmation hearing to continue on April 29

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, April 10 - Pacific Lumber Co.'s confirmation hearing will continue on April 29, according to a notice filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

As previously reported, five separate plans of reorganization were filed for the company's bankruptcy case.

All five plans are being considered at the confirmation hearing, which began on April 8.

A plan status conference was also held on April 1, and the judge declined to rule on a timber notes indenture trustee motion to deny confirmation of two of the plans submitted by Pacific Lumber at that status conference.

Pacific Lumber is a Scotia, Calif.-based producer of redwood lumber and an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Maxxam. It filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 18, 2007, and its Chapter 11 case number is 07-20027.
