Nortel records $721 million of cash and equivalents as of March 31

Pittsburgh, Nov. 6 – Nortel Networks Inc. reported $721 million of cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash as of March 31, according to a monthly operating report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In comparison, Nortel posted $729.4 million of cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash at the end of February.

The company also reported $856.8 million in assets and $5,313,600,000 in debt as of March 31.

Nortel, a Brampton, Ont.-based manufacturer and supplier of telecommunications networking equipment, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 14, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10138.
