Laclede Gas files $350 million shelf registration for debt, preferreds

Knoxville, Tenn., April 9 - Laclede Gas Co. filed a $350 million shelf registration in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers first mortgage bonds, unsecured debt securities and preferred stock.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used to redeem, repurchase, repay or retire debt, for working capital and capital expenditure needs, to finance strategic investments and for other general corporate purposes.

The subsidiary of Laclede Group, Inc. is based in St. Louis.
