Dots court authorizes six-month extension of exclusive plan deadlines

By Kali Hays

New York, Jan. 22 – Dots, LLC obtained a third extension of its exclusive Chapter 11 plan filing and solicitation periods, according to a Dec. 29 motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

The company’s exclusive filing period is extended through July 20, 2015 from Jan. 15 and its solicitation period through Sept. 21, 2015 from March 16.

Having ceased all business operations and sold all of its assets, Dots said it has “shifted focus to the wind-down of the Chapter 11 cases,” and is in the process of resolving all avoidance actions, according to the extension motion.

“The debtors have undertaken an orderly liquidation of their business and are proceeding with the efficient wind-down of their affairs in order to maximize the value realized by their estates. Accordingly, the debtors believe that it would be premature to file a plan at this juncture.”

Dots, a Glenwillow, Ohio-based women’s clothing and accessories retailer, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 20, 2014 under Chapter 11 case number 14-11016.
