Moody’s ups Deutsche Postbank to stable

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed the A3/Prime-2 deposit ratings of Deutsche Postbank AG, as well as the long-term provisional Baa2 senior unsecured debt program rating, and changed the outlook on the A3 long-term deposit ratings to stable from negative.

Concurrently, the agency affirmed Postbank's standalone ba1 baseline credit assessment and its adjusted baseline credit assessment, which reflects support assumptions from its ultimate parent Deutsche Bank AG (DB; deposits A3, senior unsecured debt Baa2, stable, baseline credit assessment ba1).

Moody’s said the change in the long-term deposit rating outlook aligns Postbank's deposit outlook with that of Deutsche Bank once again, and follows the fact that institutional depositors will now continue to benefit from ample subordination provided by senior and subordinated debt in Moody's Advanced LGF analysis, which is based on the liability structure of Deutsche Bank.
