Charter plan effective date deadline pushed back to Nov. 12

Pittsburgh, Nov. 2 - Charter Communications, Inc. filed an amendment to its restructuring agreement with unaffiliated holders of its CCH I, LLC and CCH II, LLC notes and Paul G. Allen, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Under the amendment, the company's plan of reorganization must take effect by Nov. 12, extended from Nov. 2.

According to the motion, if consents, approvals or waivers required from governmental authorities in connection with franchises, licenses and permits covering areas serving at least 80% of the basic subscribers have not been received by. Nov. 12, the effective date must occur by Dec. 15.

Charter Communications is a St. Louis-based provider of video services, high-speed internet services and telephone services to residential and commercial customers on a subscription basis. The company filed for bankruptcy on March 27, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-11435.
