Centaur seeks approval of bid procedures for Valley View property sale

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 11 - Centaur, LLC asked the court to approve bid procedures for Centaur Pennsylvania, LLC's sale of Valley View Downs, LP to the highest bidder, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the District of Delaware.

Centaur Pennsylvania is the holding company for the company's racing, gaming and entertainment development opportunity known as Valley View Downs located in Lawrence County, Pa., 55 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Originally the Valley View development was to include a one-mile harness racetrack, a 300,000-square-foot casino and horse racing facility with 3,000 slot machines and a grandstand and clubhouse to seat 2,500 people.

A hearing is requested for Aug. 25.

Centaur, an Indiana-based gaming and horseracing company, filed for bankruptcy on March 6. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-10799.
