Centaur looks for 90-day extension of exclusive solicitation period

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 29 - Centaur, LLC requested an extension to its exclusive period to solicit votes on its plan of reorganization, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend the period to March 31 from Dec. 31.

A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1.

Centaur's disclosure statement was approved on Oct. 20, and its plan confirmation hearing is set for Feb. 1, the filing said.

According to Centaur, an extension to its exclusive plan-solicitation period would allow time for the plan to be confirmed. The company also cited the size and complexity of its cases when making its request.

Centaur, an Indiana-based gaming and horseracing company, filed for bankruptcy on March 6, 2010. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-10799.
