Moody's rates Celanese notes Ba2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Ba2 rating to $500 million of senior unsecured notes due 2022 to be issued by Celanese US Holdings LLC.

The outlook is positive.

Moody's affirmed the existing Ba2 corporate family rating and speculative grade liquidity rating of SGL-1 at Celanese Corp. Moody's also raised the rating on the senior unsecured debt at Celanese US Holdings to Ba2 from Ba3 due to the decline in secured debt subsequent to this transaction.

"Although management has indicated that it is seeking to move toward investment grade, their lack of targeted credit metrics or clear financial priorities continues to slow the company's progress." Moody's senior vice president John Rogers said in a news release.
