Caterpillar files automatic shelf covering debt, preferreds and stock

Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 2 - Caterpillar Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, common stock, preferred stock and warrants.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The manufacturer of construction and mining equipment is based in Peoria, Ill.
