CAS Medical gets clearance for expanded Fore-Sight use

New York, Sept. 7 - CAS Medical Systems, Inc. announced it received 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration for expanded use of its Fore-Sight Absolute Cerebral Oximeter for additional patients, including children weighing more than 40 kg and infants.

The company received FDA 510(k) clearance in December 2005 to market its cerebral oximeter for adults, which it plans to launch this year.

The initial market focus for Fore-Sight is high-risk cardiovascular surgeries.

Based in Branford, Conn., CAS Medical Systems designs and manufactures patient care products.
