KBRA turns Conifer view to negative

KBRA said it affirmed Conifer Holdings, Inc.’s ratings, including the BBB- rating on Conifer Insurance Co.’s surplus notes, but changed the outlook to negative from stable.

“The negative outlook reflects Conifer’s operating performance in recent years that has fallen short of KBRA’s expectations. While the companies have taken steps to improve underwriting and pricing, these steps have failed to yield improved results,” the agency said in a press release.
