Harbinger sells 20 million shares of Calpine, drops stake to 15.1%

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 29 - A group of Calpine Corp. shareholders led by Harbinger Capital Partners Master Fund I, Ltd. sold 20 million shares on Monday for $11.40 each, according to a schedule 13D/A filed on Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

As previously reported, Calpine announced on Sept. 22 that Harbinger would sell 20 million shares in a public secondary offering.

Between July 9 and Sept. 16, Harbinger sold a net 525,750 shares, a prior SEC filing said.

Harbinger beneficially owns 66,980,047 shares, or 15.1%, of the San Jose, Calif., power company.
