Calpine U.S. Trustee appoints amended unsecured creditors committee

Pittsburgh, Jan. 12 - Calpine Corp.'s U.S. Trustee appointed an amended official committee of unsecured creditors for the company's Chapter 11 case, eliminating Dennis R. Verrnette of Dominion Cogen, Inc., according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The committee is comprised of James McGinley of Wilmington Trust Co., New York; Sandra E. Horwitz of HSBC Bank USA NA, New York; Richard Kuersteiner of Franklin Advisers Inc., San Mateo, Calif.; William J. Patterson of SPO Partners & Co., Mill Valley, Calif.; Jonathan C. Stein and Charles F. Cerria of Amerada Hess Corp., New York; and Garry Lamb of TransCanada Pipelines Ltd., Calgary, Alta.

Calpine, a San Jose, Calif., power company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 20, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05- 60200.
