S&P upgrades Callon Petroleum

S&P said it upgraded its issuer credit rating on Callon Petroleum Co. to CCC+ from CC following the announced termination of a proposed exchange offer and consent solicitation. The agency said it viewed the offer as distressed and downgraded Callon to CC.

Concurrently, S&P raised the rating on the unsecured notes to B- from CC. The recovery rating is 2.

The negative is outlook.
