Cambrian Coal disclosure statement approval hearing now Sept. 17

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 14 – Cambrian Coal LLC’s disclosure statement hearing has been continued to Sept. 17 from Aug. 20, according to an order filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

The continuance was requested by Cambrian, the official committee of unsecured creditors appointed in its Chapter 11 case, Continental Heritage Insurance Co. and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet.

The motion, which was also filed on Friday, said Continental and the cabinet have requested that the company and committee agree to postpone the hearing to allow the parties to attempt to resolve any issues related to the disclosure statement and Cambrian’s plan of liquidation, and the company and committee agreed.

Cambrian is a Belcher, Ky.-based coal company. The company filed bankruptcy on June 16, 2019 under Chapter 11 case number 19-51200.
