Epworth Villa requests 65-day extension of exclusive period

By Mark Reccek

Bethlehem, Pa., Oct. 13 – Central Oklahoma United Methodist Retirement Facility, Inc., which does business as Epworth Villa, requested court approval to extend its exclusive period for filing a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.

The company is requesting an extension on its exclusive filing period through Dec. 18 from Oct. 14.

According to the motion, “The requested extension of the exclusive period is necessary in order to allow Epworth Villa to obtain approval of the second disclosure statement so that the second modified plan may be submitted to creditors for their vote on acceptance, and to the court for confirmation, all as is required to reach an efficient resolution of this case for the benefit of all of Epworth Villa’s creditors, as well as its residents, employees and contractors."

Epworth Villa, an assisted living facility in Oklahoma City, filed for bankruptcy on July 18, 2014. The Chapter 11 case number is 14-12995.
