Crescent Jewelers granted two-week final exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, April 12 - Crescent Jewelers obtained a brief extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.

The company's exclusive plan filing period was extended to April 24 from April 10 and the solicitation period to June 23 from June 9.

According to the order, the court does not intend to extend Crescent's exclusivity periods beyond these dates.

A status conference to discuss any plan or disclosure statement issues is scheduled for April 27.

Crescent, an Oakland, Calif.-based retailer, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 11, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-44416.
