Cost Plus shareholder Stephens Investments buys 243,793 shares

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 5 - A group of Cost Plus, Inc. investors led by Stephens Investments Holdings LLC upped its stake to 12.2% with the purchase of 243,793 shares of the company's stock between Oct. 27 and Dec. 4.

According to a schedule 13D/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the shares were priced from $0.8731 to $1.55 each.

Between Oct. 21 and Oct. 24, Stephens reported the purchase of 627,520 shares of Cost Plus at prices from $1.5485 to $1.5498 each, a prior SEC filing said.

The investors beneficially own 2.68 million shares of the Oakland, Calif., specialty retailer.
