Communications Corp. of America seeks three-month exclusivity extension

Pittsburgh, Jan. 10 - Communications Corp. of America, Inc. requested a second extension of its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Louisiana.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan filing period to April 30 from Jan. 31, and the company wants to extend the solicitation period by 90 days.

According to the filing, the company needs more time to work on bidding procedures for an asset sale, to reach an agreement on a consensual plan and to finalize alternative sources of financing and equity capital.

A hearing is scheduled for Jan. 29.

Communications Corp. of America, a Lafayette, La., television station owner, filed for bankruptcy on June 7, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-50410.
