CommScope talks $1.5 billion eight-year notes with 8½% area yield

Portland, Ore., Jan. 10 - CommScope, Inc. talked its $1.5 billion offering of eight-year senior notes (B3/B) with an 8½% area yield on Monday, according to a market source.
The Rule 144A and Regulation S deal is set to price midday on Tuesday.
J.P. Morgan Securities LLC is the bookrunner.
The notes will come with four years of call protection.
Proceeds will be used as part of the financing for the leveraged buyout of the company by the Carlyle Group.
The debt financing also includes a $1.4 billion credit facility.
CommScope is a Hickory, N.C.-based provider of infrastructure services for communication networks.
