Citigroup to price principal-protected notes linked to S&P 100

By Jennifer Chiou

New York, June 26 - Citigroup Funding Inc. plans to price an issue of principal-protected notes due 2010 linked to the S&P 100 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Payout at maturity will be determined according to the percentage change of the index during the life of the securities. Investors will receive par plus between 80% and 85% of any gain on the S&P 100 index. If the index declines, holders will receive par.

Citigroup said it will apply to list the notes as "PCO" on the American Stock Exchange.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. will be the underwriter.
