S&P ups American Equity Investment Life

S&P said it raised its ratings on American Equity Investment Life Holding Co. to BBB from BBB- and removed all the ratings from CreditWatch where they were placed with negative implications on July 6. The agency also upgraded the preferred stock to BB+ from BB. The outlook is now stable.

The upgrades and stable outlook follow Brookfield Reinsurance Ltd. completing its acquisition of American Equity Investment Life, the agency said.
