Brooke unsecured creditors committee appointed

Pittsburgh, Nov. 5 - Brooke Corp.'s official committee of unsecured creditors was appointed Wednesday by U.S. trustee Richard A. Wieland, according to a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas.

The committee is comprised of Roger Cunningham of RKC Financial, Euless, Texas; Mahesh Bhatia of Addison Low Cost/Addison York, San Francisco; Greg Cole of NCMIC Finance Corp., Clive, Iowa; Scott Lanphear of Seraphein Beyn, Sacramento, Calif.; Gary Randant Jr. and Jim Hallberg of J & P Holdings - Hallberg Ins. Agency, Overland Park, Kan.; Timothy M. Crawley of Ghanem Insurance Services, Inc., Covina, Calif.; and Travis Alexander Torrence of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, Houston.

Based in Overland Park, Kan., Brooke is a holding company for insurance and banking services distribution companies. The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 28, and its Chapter 11 case number is 08-22786.
