S&P rates Bexar County, Texas, revenue notes AA+

Standard &Poor's said it raised the standard long-term rating and underlying rating on Bexar County, Texas' general obligation bonds to AA+ from AA and assigned the AA+ rating to the county's $70.7 million series 2008 combination flood control tax and revenue certificates of obligation, $56.4 million G.O. certificates of obligation, and $15.2 million unlimited tax road bonds.

The upgrade is based on consistent expansion of the county's tax base and continued strong financial performance, S&P said.
