AES Thames seeks 120-day extension to exclusive period to file plan

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., May 31 - AES Thames, LLC requested an extension to its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a plan of reorganization, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive filing period to Sept. 29 from June 1 and the solicitation period to Nov. 28 from July 31 because it needs more time to develop a consensual plan.

AES Thames also cited the size and complexity of its cases.

A hearing is set for July 26.

Uncasville, Conn.-based AES Thames is a wholly owned subsidiary of the AES Corp. unit AES Connecticut Management, Inc. and operates a coal-fired power plant in Montville, Conn. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 1. The Chapter 11 case number is 11-10334.
