Aeropostale obtains extension of exclusive plan filing, voting periods

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 7 – Aeropostale, Inc. obtained an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Specifically, Aeropostale’s exclusive filing period was extended through Dec. 31 and the solicitation period through March 1.

Last month, the company received court approval to hire a chief restructuring officer to assist with the previously approved sale of its business assets to a consortium of buyers, winding down its estates, the closing of stores, the budget process and development of a Chapter 11 liquidation plan.

Aeropostale, a New York-based young adult clothing retailer, filed bankruptcy on May 4, 2016. The Chapter 11 case number is 16-11275.
