Moody's gives AngloGold Ashanti Baa3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa3 long-term issuer rating to AngloGold Ashanti plc (AGA), and affirmed the Baa3 ratings of the backed senior unsecured notes due 2028, 2030 and 2040 issued by AngloGold Ashanti Holdings plc and guaranteed by AGA.

Moody's concurrently withdrew the Baa3 long-term issuer rating and stable outlook of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd.

“The assignment of the rating to AGA and the withdrawal of the rating of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. follows the company's corporate reorganization, under which the U.K.-domiciled AGA replaced the South Africa-domiciled AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. as the top holding company of the group. AGA consolidates all the group's assets and will be the reporting entity for the consolidated group going forward,” Moody’s explained in a statement.

AGA's and AngloGold Ashanti Holdings' outlooks are stable.
