AVIC says regulators again reviewing proposed convertibles issuance

By Rebecca Melvin

New York, Aug. 19 – AVIC International Holdings Ltd. said on Monday that China’s securities regulatory body had once again taken up for review its application for a proposed issuance of convertible bonds.

The company’s application is still subject to approval and may or may not proceed.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission had suspended its approval review on July 26 for alleged violations of securities laws and regulations in handling audit matters of other listed companies, the company said.

Subsequently, the regulatory body deemed the proposed issuance has fulfilled the conditions for resumption of review, the company said.

The Hong Kong-based investment holding company is engaged principally in the manufacture of electronic products.
