Acceptance Insurance reports $15,169 December net operating loss

Pittsburgh, Jan. 13 - Acceptance Insurance Cos. Inc. posted a $15,169 net operating loss for December on $789 of investment income, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures compared to a $43,166 net operating loss posted in November on $885 of investment income.

The net loss for December was also $15,169, narrowing from a $43,166 November net loss.

The company reported $2,247 in cash at Dec. 31, compared with $6,129 at the end of November.

Acceptance Insurance, a Council Bluffs, Iowa-based insurance company, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 7, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-80059.
