Arch Coal disclosure statement approval deadline extended to July 7

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 28 – Arch Coal, Inc. obtained a further extension of the debtor-in-possession credit agreement deadline for approval of the disclosure statement related to its plan of reorganization, according to an 8-K filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Specifically, the disclosure statement approval deadline was extended to July 7 from June 23.

In addition, the company’s restructuring support agreement was amended to extend to July 7 the deadline for court approval to assume the support agreement.

The support agreement amendment also waives any termination event arising out of Arch Coal’s failure to obtain court approval of the disclosure statement, as long as the statement is approved by July 7.

Based in St. Louis, Arch Coal is a coal producer. It filed for Chapter 11 on Jan. 11, 2016 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri under the case number 16-40120.
