Amp'd Mobile creditor objects to sale of substantially all company assets

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., July 27 - Amp'd Mobile, Inc. creditor Universal Service objected to the sale of substantially all of the company's assets, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Universal said that due to the fast schedule set forth by the bid procedures, the lack of a stalking horse bidder and the fact that no sale agreement is available, Universal was unable to review any specific deal terms or the impact a sale would have on its claims.

The sale auction is scheduled for July 31 and a hearing on the sale is scheduled for Aug. 1.

Amp'd Mobile, a Los Angeles wireless phone company, filed for bankruptcy on June 1. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-10739.
